On April 27, 2001, Titan opened to the public at Six Flags Over Texas to celebrate the park’s 40th anniversary. Can you believe it’s been 25 years already? At the time, it reigned as one of the top 10 tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world!
With over a mile of track, a massive 255-foot drop, and top speeds of 85 mph, this $12 million steel hypercoaster offers the kind of twists, turns, and tight banking that push riders to their absolute limits. It generated massive excitement and publicity for Six Flags when it first opened—an instant hit that has remained a favorite thrill ride for many.
Titan capped off an incredible decade of growth for the park, joining a legendary lineup of additions including: Texas Giant (1990), Runaway Mountain (1996), Mr. Freeze (1998), and Batman: The Ride (1999).

The Arlington skyline looks a bit different in the second photo, with the addition of AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, Live! by Loews, and the National Medal of Honor Museum.
