An Earthquake of Excitement—Six Flags Over Texas (1961)

See it all! Experience it all! An earthquake of excitement at Six Flags Over Texas.

Six Flags opened on August 5, 1961. This ad, from a few weeks later, certainly advertises the excitement, while promising an all-day adventure. For a special all-inclusive ticket, including admission, rides, attractions, and featured shows—revolutionary for the time—guests could enjoy the entire park. There were over 40 major attractions, with something for everyone. In the early days, Six Flags was more history-oriented than it is now, and also featured live animals.

Did you know? The railroad ride is the only attraction still in operation from the first season.
