All voyages must come to an end. After 44 years, the Conquistador sails off into the sunset.
Labor Day weekend in 2012 was your last chance to ride the Texas Chute Out and the Flashback at Six Flags Over Texas
When I was a young lad, I remember riding the trilogy of the hat, the ship, and the bobsled when we visited Six Flags. That is, El Sombrero, El Conquistador, and La Vibora in adult lingo. Sadly, Six Flags has unexpectedly announced that they are removing La Vibora to make room for a new attraction
Six Flags turns into a spooky funhouse for Fright Fest, with shows, attractions, decorations, and other thrills throughout the park. The park feels like a movie set, as they utilize strobe lights, smoke machines, sound effects, music, props, costumes, and other elements to bring the fantasy of Halloween to reality. I went on Halloween night, which was the perfect time to be there. I imagine they make it a bit spookier on Halloween, and it was certainly a fun and surreal night.
