I always liked history but didn’t know anything about local history. A chance encounter with a Texas Historical Marker in downtown Fort Worth made me realize that a lot happened around here before I came along. I began to develop an interest in local history and decided to join the Arlington Historical Society in October 2020. Since joining, local history has become a passion of mine. Even though I’ve lived in this area my whole life, I never learned about its past. I’m discovering it now, and it has such a rich and vibrant history.
My growing interest in local history inspired me to write a few articles for the Arlington Historical Society’s newsletter in 2021. Then, in January 2022, I took over as the newsletter editor. A couple months later, I also started doing our social media posts on Facebook. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I enjoy doing it. I also volunteer at Fielder Museum and serve as a board member for the Arlington Historical Society. I’m the youngest in the group, and it’s an honor to carry the torch for my generation.
This page is dedicated to copies of the newsletter that I authored and edited, with more content coming soon.
