Exploring the Past and Present of Arlington, Texas

Who am I?
Jason S. Sullivan, age 43, of Arlington, Texas
—Local history blogger and archivist

What do I do?

I explore the past and present of Arlington and blog about my discoveries. I also volunteer with the Arlington Historical Society, serving as Newsletter Editor and manager of the Fielder Museum Facebook page.

About me

I was born in Arlington but grew up in the neighboring town of Mansfield. After living in Mansfield for 24 years, I moved to Arlington in 2007. About five years ago, I started exploring the city and blogging about my discoveries. My blog is a collection of original writings and photographs, newspaper clippings, and an archive of Arlington-related materials. Some of my favorite Arlington topics include local history, notable people, public art, architecture, cemeteries, and iconic restaurants.

I became interested in local history a few years ago and soon joined the Arlington Historical Society where I currently serve as board member, newsletter editor, and social media manager. In addition to contributing articles to the Arlington Historical Society’s website, my work has also been featured on the City of Arlington’s website, Downtown Arlington’s blog, and Arlington Today magazine. I proudly served as the editor for 4th edition of “Caddos, Cotton and Cowboys: Essays on Arlington” by O.K. Carter.

In 2023, I received the Debbie Reynolds-Hazen Award, recognizing a younger individual for leadership in collecting and preserving Tarrant County’s history.
