On May 16, 1953, the Lucretia Council Cochran Chapter, NSDAR, organized in Arlington. The group had 21 founding members, with Nona Lowry Allen as the Organizing Regent.

As members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), the chapter serves Arlington and Grand Prairie through a commitment to historic preservation, patriotism, and education. This vibrant service organization carries out its mission with purpose and passion—supporting local schools, honoring veterans and active military, and preserving our community’s history.

Founded in 1890, DAR is one of the largest lineage-based, patriotic nonprofits for women in the world, with 185,000 members and approximately 3,000 local chapters worldwide.
