Remembering Wanda Marshall (1932–2025), a longtime volunteer and board member with the Arlington Historical Society.
On May 4, 2021, Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams proclaimed it Wanda Marshall Day, honoring her extensive research, tireless devotion, and determined advocacy, especially regarding her work around Arlington’s World War II history. Her efforts helped create Downtown Arlington’s World War II Memorial, including the remembrance for Medal of Honor recipient Neel E. Kearby.
The World War II room at Fielder Museum was a special project of hers, and no one gave better tours of that room than Wanda. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for local military history were unmatched, ensuring that those who served were remembered and recognized.
Wanda passed away on May 10, 2025, at age 92. We miss her dearly and continue to celebrate her life and lasting legacy at every opportunity.
