Found in the Wild—A New Beer Coaster for my Collection

I collect items related to Arlington as well as certain types of breweriana. It’s rare for these collections to overlap, but occasionally they do. Exhibit A is this elusive beer coaster from Division Brewing, one of my favorite breweries. I haven’t seen one of these on eBay, and I doubt the brewery has any left.

Division Brewing coaster found at Dr. Jeckyll’s Beer Lab

I acquired this bad boy from Dr. Jeckyll’s Beer Lab in Pantego. It was a busy Sunday afternoon; as I approached the counter to order, the crowd surreptitiously guided me toward the edge of the bar. It was fate. While waiting for my pint, I noticed a large box of coasters and various ephemera sitting next to me. I quickly spotted a coaster for Division Brewing and plucked it from the box.

I didn’t steal it—I asked if I could have it. They said yes and offered whatever else I wanted from the box. I was so excited about this one that I hardly noticed what else was in there. I probably should have dug a bit deeper. Yes, it’s used, with some wear and tear to prove it, but it is now proudly and prominently displayed in my home office.
