On Tap—Cheers to Nine Years

The cup runneth dry.

After nearly nine years in Downtown Arlington, On Tap—a beloved craft beer bar specializing in flights, pints, and growler fills—has called it quits. Their last day was December 14, 2025.

On Tap—January 2024

Located in the heart of downtown, next to Grease Monkey Burger Shop and across from the Arlington Music Hall, On Tap became a local hangout with a devoted following for those seeking something different than a typical bar.

With 50 taps on the wall, they had a vast assortment of craft beer, mead, cider, cold brew coffee, and root beer, emphasizing Texas offerings while also including some well-known national ones. Their Salsa Competition brought the heat, and their Black Friday celebration often focused on exclusive stouts, such as the popular lineup from Goose Island.

On Tap celebrated its grand opening on January 28, 2017. Their website has a counter that says they have served 1,698,204 ounces and 1,289 unique beers. That’s a lot of beer!

On Tap—March 2022

Having been there about 20 times over the years, I had started to become something of a regular in the last several months. I liked the 5-ounce tasters, getting to try different ones I hadn’t had before, or focusing on a small variety instead of one or two pints of the same beer.

Many expressed their disappointment and shock at the sudden closing. Although I wasn’t able to attend the last hurrah, I always enjoyed going there. They will be missed. Their slogan, “Good beer to good people,” had a nice ring to it. I always hate to see a small, local business close its doors. Cheers to On Tap!
