My first newspaper mention and other small-town news (1983)

A special delivery from the stork results in my first newspaper mention.

I was born at Arlington Memorial Hospital in April 1983. It was a Tuesday night, about 8:00 PM. That’s all I know.

My parents lived in Mansfield, which, in 1980, had a whopping population of about 8,100. The town didn’t have a hospital, so if you lived there and wanted your kids to be born somewhere besides a manger, you had to hit the road, with Arlington Memorial Hospital being one of the closest ones.

The newspaper clipping was part of a larger listing (shown below) announcing other births and local news. I know a few others mentioned, and I went to school with them.
