On August 4, 1993, Texas Rangers pitcher Nolan Ryan famously brawled with Chicago White Sox third baseman Robin Ventura during a game at Arlington Stadium, creating an unforgettable baseball moment.
A significant part of Arlington’s Black history involves The Hill—a historic, five-block area that would become a vibrant and tight-knit community. One of the most prominent citizens of The Hill was Lou Henry Taylor, who was often considered the neighborhood’s matriarch.
