Majestic Theatre

The Majestic Theatre opened in April 1921 as a vaudeville theatre. As the lone survivor of Dallas’ famous Theater Row, it’s a historic venue built in the Renaissance Revival style. It’s as fancy on the inside as it is on the outside. My favorite thing about the Majestic? Harry Houdini performed there in the 1920s. What an evening that must have been!

Around Downtown Dallas

Skyscrapers, brutalist architecture, an Irish Pub, Wu-Tang Clan posters in an alleyway, and a Giant Eyeball—truly something for everyone.

The Women’s Building at Fair Park

Built in 1910, the Women’s Museum closed in 2011, but is still used by the State Fair of Texas and for other purposes.

Pearl/Arts District

Formerly the Dallas High School, the classical revival structure opened in 1907 and is now a mixed-use building. Although neighbors, the building across the street is in stark contrast.
