As the National Medal of Honor Museum prepares to open to the public on March 25 in Arlington, it hosted a free community preview event on March 17-18. Attending and being among the first to tour the museum was an honor.
March 15, 1885—On this day, Texas and Pacific Engine No. 642 met a dramatic end, plunging into the swollen waters of Village Creek. It’s believed to still be there.
Pantera, who formed in Arlington in the early 1980s, cemented their heavy metal legacy with “Vulgar Display of Power”—their best-selling album. It was released on February 25, 1992.
Arlington Theater opened in 1950. While no longer a movie theater, it’s now an intimate venue for live music and other performances.
