Fairy tale went awry
Dreams fade to dust
Gentle whispers subside
Into unknown realities
The way we were…
Labels worn as shackles
Unable to let it go
So bask in the frivolity
Unforeseen circumstances
A perchance for dismay
Bring it back home!
As my masquerade dissolves
Is this a new beginning?
Or is it the same discontent?
One must pull back the disguise
And look into the eyes of the mirror.
