Lie to me

Tell me the lies I want to hear
I’m too scared to admit my fear
Forget the truth, just lie to me
You know I’m too blind to see

Tell me everything will be alright
That the stars will shine in the night
Give me a shimmer of hope
Whatever it takes to cope

Tell me the sun will always shine
And that you’ll forever be mine
We both know the words are untrue
It keeps us going until we’re through

Tell me it just was a dream I had
That the good times weren’t bad
I can’t bare to hear the truth
Amid the painful scars of youth

Tell me your beautiful lies
Don’t make it a surprise
I’ll believe anything you say
Take my hand, let’s run away.
