Crumble away to dust

A candle flickers its dim, mortal flame
Crying tears of wax that have no shame
I once was found, but now I’m lost
Unable to afford the mounting cost

Staring truth in its void, vacant eyes
Satisfied with its damned forsaken lies
Lost and troubled without a prayer
Carrying burden with no place to bare

I reminisce about this wasted life
The venom inside me sharp as a knife
Darkness starts to fall from the sky
I gaze profoundly, yet wondering why

As the gold crumbles away to dust
My body starts to decay and rust
Despite the miles I endured and walked
The door to this fate is already locked.
